The Airbus A330 Landing Gear Test Rig department situated in Filton required the modification of a leg unit to include a steering flange.To enable the clamps to be designed to suit the actual leg, the roughly cast surface was scanned and a NURB,s surface constructed to ensure a design was created to enable the “fit, form and function” of the final manufactured item.
