With a wide range of metrology equipment and experience Aerotech can provide a full reverse engineering service by utilising traditional probing technology or the latest laser technology.
Aerotech can rapidly and accurately produce three-dimensional representations that can be reversed into most CAD design packages, CATIA, Unigraphics, solidworks to name a few.
Aerotech Example:
This task was carried out on a legacy aircraft with no existing 3d data so using our full non contact scanning system we measured the entire aircraft door paying particular attention to the fastener holes, whilst capturing the data we had to Ensure that a ‘free state’ was maintained. A 3D model was then created from the measured point cloud data within Polyworks, this model was then used to compare other scanned doors, we standardized the reports which showed the customer the any deviation from part to part.
