Reverse engineering of tooling/jigs & fixtures has been carried out many times by Aerotech and we see it as very specialised metrology discipline. With our mixture of tooling and metrology experience Aerotech has the perfect blend to carry out reverse engineering of any nature. The full turn key package of data capture, 3D modelling, 2D drawings and manufacture can assist customers where part or no data exists.

Aerotech Example:

 Our metrology engineers had to reverse engineered a machining fixture due to there being limited 2d and 3d data being available. Utilising our metrology hardware and software this was the best solution for the customer. The original tool was disassembled and each part was scanned using both contact and non contact methodologies,  the captured data was then surfaced, modelled and aligned to create  2D drawings and a 3D model which was then used for Aerotech to manufacture the new tool to achieve the customers production rate increase.
